Medical and Prescription Drug Plans
If you work in a U.S. state other than Hawaii or in Puerto Rico, you can choose from three AmeriBen (owned by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield) medical and prescription drug plans:
- Premier plan, which is a traditional Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan.
- Classic plan, which is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account (HSA) feature.
- Value plan, which is another HDHP with an HSA feature.
If you live in an area where Kaiser Permanente is offered, you will also have Kaiser plan options to choose from. Kaiser is generally available in the Washington, D.C. metro area, Colorado, California, Georgia, the Northwest, and Washington state.
Hawaii employees can choose between HMSA and Kaiser.
U.S. employees with international assignments have access to the UnitedHealthcare Global plan options, including medical and dental.
If you live in Puerto Rico, you have access to the Triple S plan.
If you are enrolled in Tricare, you are eligible to enroll in Peraton’s Tricare Supplement.

Get negotiated rates through the Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield network
No matter which AmeriBen medical plan option you choose, you’ll have access to the extensive Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield network, administered through AmeriBen. When you receive care from network providers, you will benefit from negotiated rates, which are not available on an out-of-network basis.
