Congratulations on making the decision to expand your family! Whether you’re planning a pregnancy, are already pregnant, having difficulty becoming pregnant, considering adoption, or even want to add a four-legged member to the family, Peraton offers various benefits and programs to support you during this exciting time in your life. Ask yourself these questions as you begin to navigate your benefits:

Compare your Peraton health plan coverage options with other plans available to choose the plan that best meets your child’s needs. Also consider other coverage, such as state insurance, that may be available to your child. Note that even if you cover another child under your plan, you’ll need to decide if you want to enroll your new child under your Peraton plan.

If you’re not already contributing to the 401(k) retirement savings plan, you may want to start contributing. If you are already contributing, review your current contribution rate and determine if it’s enough to achieve your future financial goals. Take advantage of the tools Fidelity provides to help plan for your financial future.

Also decide if you want to enroll in disability, life and/or AD&D insurance to provide financial protection for your family in case you get sick, injured or pass away.

Review your benefits under your medical plan to determine if the type of medical intervention you need is covered. You can also consult Progyny Fertility for help with your family building journey.

Peraton provides reimbursement of up to $5,000 for paid or incurred expenses for each eligible adoption of a child under age 18, up to twice a year under the Adoption Assistance Program.

Visit the Peraton Benefits & Beyond Enrollment Portal, powered by bswift, to review and make changes to your benefits due to your birth or adoption life event. Be sure to have your child’s birth certificate, date of birth and Social Security Number handy. Changes must be made within 60 days from the date of birth/adoption.

Costs associated with maintaining the health of your pet can add up quickly. Peraton offers pet insurance coverage through Nationwide for expenses related to accidents, X-rays, surgeries, prescriptions, and hospitalization after an annual deductible is met.

Making Changes

You have 601 days from the date of birth to make changes to your benefits in the Benefits & Beyond Enrollment Portal, powered by bswift.

1. If you are enrolled in the HMSA or Triple S medical plan or Life or Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance and want to make a change due to a QLE, you must request the change in your election within 30 days of the event.

Note: If you newly enroll a dependent for medical, dental or vision coverage, you have 45 days to provide the required documentation to verify your dependent’s eligibility. Documentation must be submitted via the Benefits & Beyond Enrollment Portal, powered by bswift.
